An ice cube tray, a diving board, a bunch of Styrofoam packing material, a cheese grater? A large office building. Is that blue sky and 70 degrees in late October in Seattle? What?

Enjoying refreshments and good conversation with Jewell on the back patio of 1301. Tucked right up under the Rainier Tower at High Noon, noticing how the arc of the sun in the late October sky is so low it doesn’t even clear neighboring buildings and warm up the patio. The patio that in summer is perhaps the hottest spot in the core.

I used to fill out lots of magazine subscriptions for Barry Ackerley and would use this address. His office was on the 40th floor you know. Eventually he had a security door installed and we'd have to get buzzed in. They had a great bathroom.

Now Barry shifted over a couple to 601 Union. Haven't tried the new bathroom though.

Sometimes when I'm feeling like my shoes aren't buffed enough I make my way to 801 2nd, 12th floor so I can make use of the electric shoe buffer. Then I finish up with some mouthwash. Genius!
