What if a lower case g?

You should really read "Camera Lucida" by Roland Barthes.

Thanks for the recommendation, I just put a hold on the book at the library. word. And Bronko, maybe I can get 69 fka Macnamara to secure a lower case "g" in the proper font and I'll work on a new photo project.
