We all make mistakes, get caught off-guard, hit a rough patch, dive into a corner a bit too steep, carve a line that includes a metal grate, roll across a wet crosswalk stripe, or get hit with a wind-tunnel focused cross wind out of nowhere. The important thing is how you react. Are you going to correct, compensate, roll with it, twitch your hips, let it slide, go with it, feather the brake, pedal through it, keep your chain tension, counter steer, relax, go gumby, go rag doll and ride it out?
Or are you going to point fingers, shift the blame, over correct, over compensate, white knuckle, back pedal, choke, grab a handful of front brake, clip out, foot down and bail out?
