Bumper to bumper gridlock on 2nd Avenue from Belltown to the Square, brake lights as far as you could see.
Traffic gets like this once in while and that’s why there are still bike messengers. Flowing through traffic as if it didn’t exist, like sand through your fingers, like water from your rigatoni flowing through your colander. You cannot see him in this photo, but Cory is a few blocks down 2nd white-lining all the way to Georgetown. Moving 10 times the speed of all those cars.
If you were a vehicular cyclist you’d be fucked, your rigid riding style and outdated Forester philosophy would prevent you from white-lining, using a bike lane, a bike path or even hopping on the sidewalk here and there. I’d respect you for riding your bike but question your staunch style and dedication to an idea that makes no sense in dense urban traffic.
Like Eric Clapton said, let it blossom, let it flow.
Like Robert Hurst said, "flow"
Like Mihaly Czikszentmihalyi said, "FLOW"
Let it flow.
