In 1972 riding the Mediterranean coast into Nice my uncle came to a fork in the road. Left fork was a coastal tour. Right was the quick car route down a 7-9% grade into Nice town center. He took the car route and on the downhill his tubular came unglued, he crashed and spent 6 months in a coma. At the time my parents were road tripping visiting my aunt and uncle in all white Boise Idaho from all black East Cleveland. My mom used the remaining funds to fly to Nice for my uncles convalescence and that’s how we ended up in Idaho. Had my uncle taken the left fork i wouldn’t be writing this.
