IRS deduction for mileage in 2006: 44.5 cents per mile. That's what I get to deduct, although it is kind of a gray area on a motorcycle since the IRS doesn't acknowledge that as a legitimate vehicle to be delivering on, but fuck'em, they don't let you deduct for a pickup truck if you get technical. Too bad the congress cares fuck-all about bike messengers, although most of them are lawyers and use bicycle messengers everyday because they are too stupid (or busy) to do their own courthouse filings. I used to do the legal filings. It's no walk in the park. I think that you can deduct half of your food (fuel) costs if you talk about business while you are eating. If you need someone to vouch for you, I had "a business lunch" with you everyday last year, even if in spirit if not in body.
Mostly, I'm just pissed there is no reason for me to work today because of a federal holiday for presidents that have been dead for over 150 years.
