In Chicago, there was (is?) Joey "The Legend" Love, a Puerto Rican messenger from NYC. He was one of the original X-Men, a New York mess group that wore hockey gear--knee and shin guards, shoulder pads, helmets, face masks, all that.
Joey was well-known for lots of things, but LEGENDARY for hangin' onto cars.
My buddy Jose once saw Joey tucked down on the passenger side of a cab, clutching the right rear wheel-well, gettin' towed up the on-ramp to the fucking FREEWAY. Man!
