You wanna go? then go
You wanna stay? that's cool, stay there
But until you make up your mind...
...get the hell outta the way
Feel the pain.
Ride it out.
Pedal harder.
I’m a big fan of taking it for what it is. When it’s winter time it’s cold, wear a sweater. When it’s summer time it’s hot, take your shirt off.
When there’s a big hill pedal harder and grind it out. When you're done on the hill, turn around and bomb down it until your eyes water, until you can't see.
It’s like living in a log cabin in Montana and complaining about being cold in the winter or hot in the summer. Or driving a 1967 Ford pickup and complaining about having to parallel park it on Capitol Hill. What are doing? What did you expect?
Do you want to enjoy the good stuff? Then you have to eat the bad stuff too. Ups and downs. Yins and Yangs. Fronts and backs.
If you want to live your life in a pain-free climate controlled Popemobile…numb to the world, go ahead, ride it out, gray, middle ground, safe Blahsville.
Whatever you want to do is cool with me, but until you make up your mind…
Get the hell outta the way.
PS. this has nothing to do with anything and everything to do with everything:
Elevator soundbite 1420 5th Avenue:
“I got my REI dividend check and I used it to buy a yoga strap and a Nalgene splash guard.”
When I heard that, I went slack jawed, getting punched in the gut with Seattle.
Take that soundbite someplace else, to another place or time and you'd get a different response:
What the fuck is a yoga strap and who’s this Nalgene?
