NO GUM CHEWING
NO HATS
NO CELL PHONES
NO FOOD
NO BEVERAGES
read the sign on the courtroom door. The sign on the other door read:
ALL DELIVERIES MUST GO TO THE JUDGE'S MAILROOM
But the client told me to take it to the judge, so I threw open the door and walked in, chewing gum, wearing a hat, my Nextel blaring group channel banter and a cup of coffee in my hand. Interrupting a criminal trial to deliver some working copies for a divorce case that won't be heard for 18 months. I ignored the bailiff and looked right at the judge and said
"How you doin?...you sure are lookin good Your Honor, I've got a little something here for you if I could just get you to stamp the messenger slip, that would be great."
I didn't really do this, but some of our clients think this is what we do with their working copies for the judge.
