once upon a time

December 28, 2006

There is no need to Re-visit, recreate, re-live the storm that surrounded the 1999 WTO meetings in Seattle except to tell you young kids what really went down that week. Usually when Hollywood puts out some crap years down the road, it's just to put a little more spin on their story, on what they want you to believe actually happened. But we were there on N30. We inhaled the tear gas, we watched the events unfold and picked up handfuls of rubber bullets the next morning. If you have any questions about it, this sappy love story WTO film will not answer them with the truth, but that's entertainment. And if you believe Hollywood is just for fun, watch some more TV.

That's a Jay Grisham photo on the cover of kickstand #10.

Remember how much money Jay made that day? He went to the Army/Navy store on First and bought all of their gas masks for $10 each, then sold them to yahoos for $20 or $30. That was right before they declared a state of emergency. The SoE outlawed using a gasmask. "If you have a gasmask on, how are we going to subdue you with tear gas? Oh yeah, rubber bullets and concussion grenades in Capitol Hill at 3am. Oh, ok, what are you doing on the street? Complaining about your kids' utter terror about our military tactics? How about a face full of mace and a few dozen night sticks to the body and head? Ya like that, don't ya bitch?" It sorta went down like that kids.

word. That's right kids, Case knows the truth. He can answer your questions better than Charlize Theron can.

Don't forget the 'If you have business downtown you don't have to worry about being there.' Rachael Clemens didn't forget that when they knocked her off her bike and maced her. That city councilman who was pulled from his car and maced and tossed into the pile of protesters (not for being black though, even though he gave the cop his credentials before the cop tossed it to the ground and hit him), he didn't forget. I have some pretty sool pics I should give to you on this one Mark. There's a great one at One Union with an armored car, 6 or 7 riot cops, and a guy in a wheelchair. Good stuff.

'sool' should be 'cool'

Almost forgot, gotta give it up for 03 Chris, the Methadone Boy. He was a good messenger and had pretty cool tattoos. Last time I say him he was completely sober. Should I get sober? Or should I get a subscription to this magazine? www.moderndrunkardmagazine.com
