how are you? I'm fine, how are you?

let's talk about the weather. It's always a safe topic. A dusting of snow in Seattle is big deal. The schools close, the courts open late or shut down, the buses jackknife and block the road. The geography of the city makes snow and ice a big factor. It's not like Chicago or Minneapolis or Des Moines on big flat plane. Seattle is a bunch of hills, steep hills, and snow makes a difference. Add in the fact that none of the drivers know how to drive when it comes down. The city of Seattle has one or two snow plows, they do have a few trucks that can sand and salt the roads but that's it. The Sea-Tac airport may borrow that snow plow for their runways if it actually snows a lot here or they'll just shut down too. About six or seven residents of Seattle own snow shovels, because it doesn't really snow here. But it did last night and it has few times this winter. It has felt like winter here this winter. I can feel it.

Hey-

Heres a pic of our winter here a couple weeks ago. The best way I’ve found to deal with it is a good stout or porter around 5.6-6.8 abv.  Enjoy, and be safe.    –Bret in Abq.
