Daddy, what's a bottom bracket?

January 18, 2007

the grand opening celebration for the Olympic Sculpture Park is this weekend, it's not quite finished but it's close. This is a work called Father and Son by Louise Bourgeois. Both figures will be in a fountain, however today they are still shrink wrapped in protective plastic and the work continues on the park. "Surrealism and its themes strongly influenced Bourgeois' early work and they inform this fountain..." hey, Louise I like this look, industrial, landscaping, shrink wrapped mummies. "Bourgeois' representation portrays an impossible and poignant situation as the two face each other with arms outstretched, striving to overcome a seemingly insurmountable divide" It won't look like this for long but it did today.

Today I bought an old Univega and I'm building it up as another single speed work bike. I just happened to have a 26.4 seatpost sitting around and almost everything else I need.  Unfortunately I do not have a bottom bracket that fits. It's a seemingly insurmountable divide, but I'll have to wait another day or so and build it up this weekend.
