what was that? is that all there is? who is this? this is it.

I walked into the bike shop and said

"I need a cartridge bottom bracket 68-110"

and the mechanic said

"wow, you're thinking clearly this morning, if I said 68-110, most people would think I was talking about some roads to get back to Tacoma".

all you bike geeks know 68 is the size of the bottom bracket shell, and 110 is the length of the spindle. Pretty standard, typical, normal, ISO. One reason I sold the Bertin was its French threaded bottom bracket and I prefer Japanese lugged steel to French lugged steel. Four months later I've built up a bike nearly identical to the one I sold Dan but this Univega frame is much much better than the Bertin and if I was going to Tacoma from here I'd take I-5.  

So I got the bottom bracket, the final piece of the puzzle and built up this Univega.

It's a whole lotta lugged Japanese steel. Triple butted chromoly. It's pink and heavy and slow and smooth like the LoveBoat.

Right on. let me know when you're in Seattle, we'll drink fine beer and ride some bikes. Sometimes I think my bikes are heavy because they're single-speeds and still in the mid-20s. But they're also 20 year old lugged steel.

nice bike. I bet you can attest to the smooth lugged steel. my grocery bike is fixed, but I like the single freewheel for work because I daydream a lot.
