where do we go?

January 23, 2007

The Karate Monkey is a parable and like Wikipedia says: A parable is the simplest of narratives. It sketches a setting, and describes an action and its results. It often involves a character facing a moral dilemma, or making a questionable decision and then suffering the consequences of that choice. Just ask Jason, he’s got a Karate Monkey hanging around and every time he looks at it he imagines a different bike. The possibilities are endless the permutations infinite. Disk tabs, cantilever bosses, horizontal dropouts, derailleur hanger…whatever. Whatever you want to do. Wherever you want to go. Where do we go? Where do we go now?

I’m attracted to the idea of a strong foundation…

A liberal arts education

A cast iron skillet of butter, sautéed garlic and onions

A steel bike frame

A burger and fries
