when Groundhog day falls on a Friday before the Superbowl, and it's a full moon...all signs point to
well I'm not sure what they point to.
not that this photo has anything to do with anything but proximity leads to association and assumptions and error. And I'm a big fan of parallax error, the doppler effect, and reading the meniscus correctly in a graduated cylinder. It's all about what you're looking at, what you're paying attention to, and how you're looking at it. The observer, that's YOU. you are here. I really don't like backseat drivers or watching TV with large groups of people or used car salesmen, but what does that have to do with anything. Put it all in a sentence and let the reader make the connections, the assumptions, the errors. It's all relative. It's up to the observer to take it all in and interpret.
The only thing between me and Pier 70 was a really really long train. The train in the photo. The train that stopped completely for about 10 minutes, then backed up a bit then slowly started rolling. I could have gone back to Pier 66 and over the foot bridge but I didn't. Once the sculpture garden is complete that overpass and stairway will be the ticket.
