made a special trip to Vashon Island today to pick through the bone yard of the parking lot outside the bike shop that is going out of business and one of the things the shop owner donated to Bike Works was an armload of pink plastic clip-on rear fenders and those in the know know that those fenders scream Rob Ortega and now I have isolated the source of those fenders Rob rocked consistently when one would wear out he'd appear with a fresh shiny new one not only could he hook you up with a fat sack of mushrooms he'd always offer to hook you up with a pink fender too. It's sad to see a shop like that close down. An island institution as much as any church, grocery store, law office, library or funeral home. Here's to 75 Max, Stevie D, Treebeard Jace and Mister Rob Fucking Ortega. word.

yep, that shop, years and years and years of stories history and inventory. I want to get a few of those NOS NIB NWT pink fenders and hang them on the wall to collect dust and inspire stories. I'll save one for you.
